My Nervous Energy, put into lego party decorations.

Today is the big day of the science fair...
I am so nervous about how it will all go over.
Last year she got second place, but there were only 3 Kindergarten entries. This year, I found out last night, that there are 23 kindergartners participating!!!  I have no clue how many first graders! She will be in the K-1 category...
Winner goes to a larger all city contest which is on her birthday.
She really wants to go!
So yes... nervous mom.. I dealt with this so far by eating too much, and cleaning the house. I finished off the more than one servings worth of leftover Indian food and a couple handfuls of Cheetos. Nice combo huh?
I have to stay busy!!! Well I guess it is a good time to start working on party supplies for my soon to be 3 year old...

So far....

I have worked on the banner and his juice boxes.

My big lots, orange juice boxes, covered with a cool lego printable.

A good start!

  1. I am having an afternoon Lego party at the end of the month for my soon-to-be 5 year old son. I am just curious about what you are all planning on doing. For the kids, I will have Lego coloring pages, lots of "imagination" Legos as my son calls them (as opposed to the "model" type), popcorn, a giant cookie from Cookie Jar (check out their Lego cake; $5 off coupon in Etc.) by request, and the juice boxes like yours (where did you get the patter? I was just going to do solid colors and cut out circles), and pin the Lego on the...not sure yet. :) For the adults, I will have Lego trivia (very interesting), Bric-Tac-Toe, and for both, a guess the number of Legos in the jar. Do you have any other interesting ideas?

  2. I have been pinning ideas I like on my pinteret board. You can check all of the links out there.
I really like the build a car and race it idea using a folding table with the one side legs down. We are also going to toss some legos off the second floor over the railing and see what we can get into bucket targets. He is only 3 so we don't need a lot of structured activites. Here is a link to all the ideas I liked so far.

    1. Oh and I put a new post up today with a simple kleenex box lego brick pinata I made.http://www.karascreativeplace.blogspot.com/2012/03/easy-lego-pinata.html

And for his cake (which he doesn't like cake) is going to be jello cups various colors with ready whip and sprinkles on top on our cupcake stand. Bright and colorful just like the legos!

  3. Thanks so much for all of the ideas! My son really wanted a pinata, but I couldn't find one that I thought would work...I will for sure be doing the one you made! :)
