"You are so creative!" I have heard that phrase constantly since I was little. DIY, Refashioning, Crafting, Sewing, Woodworking. I love it all! Now I have a place to keep my favorite projects or ideas organized and share them with you!

Paint Swatch Note Pads

Photobucket

My Hubby brought home a TON of scrap paper from work yesterday. A HUGE pile. One side printed on the other side blank. He brings it home so the kids always have something to color on. I was excited to see the pile because I had this project to go with it.

I always seem to find myself in a situation where someone asks for my phone number or I am asking for their email address and I never have any paper with me to write it on. I am constantly stuck using a napkin or something not so great for the job. Well problem solved thanks to this project I found on WhiMSy love. Useful, cheap, quick to make, and personal.... Who doesn't have a favorite color?? How could you not like these??

What you need:
Long Paint Swatches- I had grabbed a few the other day at ACE Hardware. I asked and said what I was using them for. They could care less, they are free anyway.
Scrap computer paper or other paper
Stapler
Pen or Pencil
Scissors

Using your paint swatch as a guide trace the width onto a piece of paper. I did this three times on the sheet. Then fold it in half the other way and that is your other cutting line.

Cut as many pages you want in your book. Stack them so all the clean sides are to the top.

Fold you paint swatch like this so there is just a bit of the second color showing. (this may vary on different swatches)

Photobucket
Place your paper stack inside and fold the small end over the end. Place one staple toward the bottom, but high enough to get through all the pages, to hold the paper in place.

Photobucket
Fold long side over the other end of the paper stack and slide end into the bottom now stapled end of the paint swatch. Just like closing a match book.

Now I can pop one of these in my purse and I will never be caught without a scrap piece of paper again. I may send a few to school with my daughter for her teacher on the first day.

I think they would make great little gifts for friends as well. If you know their favorite color... They are sure to love it!
